Services

There are several ways for you to take advantage of Rosemary's mind-body therapies at her clinic:

1.Enjoy a relaxing massage, using one or several of the modalities that Rosemary is trained in.

2.Experience the healing benefit of an Emotional Freedom Technique session. Usually one hour, Rosemary will not only assist you in eliminating negative behaviors and emotions, she will teach you to use this powerful technique whenever you feel the need. A private session will help you get to deeper levels of your issue by learning to refine the phrasing and address associated issues that have contributed to your energy embalance.

3.Have the best of both worlds! Give yourself the gift of a combination "health touch" session, which combines the clearing of unwanted issues with Emotional Freedom Technique and the relaxing benefits of a massage. The time devoted to EFT and massage can be adjusted to meet your personal needs.

Modalities

Jin Shin Do

Jin Shin do is a method of releasing muscular tension and stress by applying deepening finger pressure to combinations of specific points on the body. These points, called acupoints, are highly energized spots along the body's meridians - pathways of energy associated with body organs. Jin Shin Do, may be translated as the "way of the compassionate spirit". Applying simple, direct finger pressure to acupoints helps release tension and reduce physical and emotional stress.

Trager

The Trager approach was developed by Milton Trager, MD. It is a system of contemporary Western bodywork that combines tissue and joint mobilization, relaxation and movement re-education. Trager focuses on creating the sensations of lighter, easier and freer movement through affecting neurological mechanisms of the body.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on of hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen life energy flows through us. If one's life force is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way. The ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. The ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master teacher and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy".

Lymphatic Drainage

Uninterrupted movement of lymph and blood is necessary for the proper functioning of the immune system and tissue repair. Lymphatic drainage massage is a specialized form of Western massage that is precise and rhythmic, consisting of gentle, slow, repetitive strokes performed in a specific direction and sequence to enhance lymph circulation.

Reflexology

The theory behind this technique is that the feet are a mirror of the body which reflects any disturbances in the body. Reflexology is aimed at restoring balance. This is achieved through stimulating the reflexes in the feet to cause a relaxation in the corresponding body part. The basic technique is direct pressure to the tops, sides and bottoms of the feet.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is defined as the science and art of applying massage and related techniques to enhance the health and well-being of the athlete and to enhance athletic performance. It is based in traditional Western massage and has these applications:

  • enhance recovery from physical activity
  • facilitate healing after an injury
  • assist the athlete prepare for and recover from a sports event

Ortho-bionomy

Contained within patterns of holding and tension is the information the body needs about how to return to balance. If we spend many years using incorrect posture, repeating movements that are stressful to the body and generally subjecting the body to the wear and tear of daily life, we create stress patterns that bring the body to the edge of its limits of accomodating any excess strain. In OB, the focus is on finding a release position that creates comfort so that the body notices how to be comfortable. Once the body is comfortable, it relaxes.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release addresses the body's soft tissue structure by releasing restriction in the muscles and fascia caused by accident, injury, postural distortion, poor cellular nutrition, joint blockage, or emotional stressors.

Trigger Point Therapy

Janet Travell, MD, pioneer in trigger point therapy, was the White House physician to

Presidents Kennedy and Johnson. Dr. Travell recognized that trigger points are small spots in muscles that are sore or radiate pain when pressed. These points are tense bands of tissue in muscles and tendons and are relieved through ischemic compression on the trigger point sites.

Massage Cupping

Massage Cupping is a modern adaptation of the ancient art of cupping therapy.

By creating suction and negative pressure, cupping is used to drain excess fluids and toxins, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, as well as bring blood flow to stagnant skin and muscles.

My appointment with Rosemary is what I look forward to each month! I only wish I were able to go more often! Rosemary's hands are magic. She is always able to find the spots that - physically and emotionally - need to be worked on. I leave feeling like a new person each time!

"I have had massage with Rosemary for many years now. During which her expansive knowledge of massage technique and new modalities has helped with everything from daily stress to injury to athletic training and deep tissue massage. Rosemary takes a personal interest in every client. If you have the opportunity, its worth at least an hour of your time to have massage with Rosemary!!"

Z.B., South Lake Tahoe, CA

I have been a client of Rosemary's for over a decade. Typically, I choose a 30 minute EFT Treatment and an hour massage. The EFT session helps me label my emotions that may be over loading my brain with negativity. The massage is deep enough to work through my fitness training soreness, but relaxing enough to fall asleep in her peaceful treatment room. The beauty of Tahoe Health Touch is having the opportunity to break through both mental and physical limitations and leave feeling refreshed, energized and ready to take on LIFE!
